I am currently searching for a new house for after graduation. He has decided very firmly that he wants to remain in KL although I am against the idea for I am thinking about the future, when we have kids and what kind of place I’d like to live in; I imagine a place where I would feel it’s safe to let the children (read: in the future) play outside, very much like my childhood days where I would go around my housing area on a bicycle or even walk to the kedai runcit with my neighbours.

However, as a very young couple, I also understand that work opportunities are best in KL. So we made a compromise, whereby, we would prefer to live in the suburbs near to the big city. 

We headed to my uncle’s place for an open house a few weekends ago and we thought, “This is a nice are to live in.” This place had everything we wanted for starting a family! 

That’s when the Husband decided to Google for a place in Shah Alam and we stumbled upon the first high-rise and first resort-inspired residences in TTDI Alam Impian; Olivina Residences.

TTDI Alam Impian, developed by Naza TTDI, is a collection of quality, integrated development within the upcoming township of Alam Impian in Seksyen 35, Shah Alam. Located in the northern fringe of the township, this 208-acre of development will comprise 9 phases that will include link-houses, semi-detached houses, apartments and shop offices. 

What attracted me to the area is that on the website, it says:

Can you believe it? It’s everything I want! 

Due to splendid planning, the essential amenities of living are remarkably nearby in within reach of 5km radius for your convenience as TTDI Alam Impian includes the planning of a school complex, petrol station, kindergarten, community hall, surau, recreational parks and other facilities. In addition, it is close to external amenities which include a police station, fire station, government health centre, the MBSA community hall and recreational area. Numerous trading, industrial and commercial areas are also situated nearby. This is certainly a plus point! 

In terms of accessibility, Alam Impian is superbly located in Shah Alam with multiple ingress and egress points. The 14.7 km newly built Lebuhraya Kemuning-Shah Alam (LKSA) highway connects Alam Impian residents directly to the Federal Highway and the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) highway. It is also connected via North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and North–South Expressway Central Link (ELITE). 

Olivina Residences is the first high-rise residences in the area. It’s the place of our choice because we are searching for an apartment rather than landed property. This is mostly due to the size. The size is very important because it’s just the two of us for now and we are not yet working (read: the size affects the price). 

The development consists of 3 blocks: Block A is a 15-storey high rise with 143 units. Block B is a 8-storey low rise with 50 units. Block C is a 9-storey low rise with 92 units. In block A, there are 2 types of units. Type A is 850sqf, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Type B is similar, at 950sqf it has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms as well with an addition of a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. 

In both blocks B and C, there are 2 types of units. Type C is 1160sqf with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a foyer and a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Type D is 1380sqf. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a dry kitchen, a wet kitchen, a foyer as well as a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Both Type C and Type D are also available with a front garden or a side garden.

I really like their idea of focusing on the practical use of the house first before they proceed with their aesthetic value – because after all, we need our home to be functional first before it is nice right? I guess this ties back to Olivina’s tagline – “Where Life Unfolds” where it feels like everything has to start from within before we explore the exterior. 

On top of these great deals, the property is freehold! Having a thorough understanding in land law and working in conveyancing, we would definitely go for freehold properties because it becomes our indefeasible property and that, is truly an added bonus to this resort-inspired home.
