Ice Skating @ Royale Chulan Damansara with The Girls
4/16/2015I apologize for the long hiatus. I've never left the blog this long! I've been so busy with presentations, exams, research papers and The Classroom Project (@tcpiium), a theatre production house in UIA. For the past few weeks, I've been in UIA from morning to the middle of the night. In fact, tomorrow, I have my midsem test for Public International Law II. And Land Law II on Monday. So, yeah. I've been busy.
Currently, I'm doing my research paper which I have to submit in about 2 hours and a half. But I thought about how I don't have the time for anything right now. Not even for the girls. The last time I went out with Adlin and Qila, was this time. Sometime a few months ago. I miss them.
It's funny. We attend the same kuliyyah. Our classes are next to each other. We go to the same cafes. And yet, it is so difficult for us to just cross path.
You've been forewarned. Marriage, studying, working, fashion and blogging would take up so much of your time. 24 hours is not enough in a day. To be honest, every night, I feel like I'm going to faint. But for the sake of the people who have put their trust in me, I pull through.
At the beginning of the semester, Qila decided we should treat Adlin to a day of fun because we didn't manage to celebrate her birthday end of last year because Adlin was busy. So we forced her to follow us to the ice skating rink this one morning.
By 8AM we were ready to go. Semangat! We wanted to be at the rink when it's not so packed. So when we arrived at Royale Chulan Damansara, we found out that they had morning classes for kids and it was filled with them little humans.
But the great news is that you can go out and come back at anytime in the day! So after taking a few spins, we decided we were hungry. Then, we left for classes.
After Maghrib in UIA, we headed for the rink again. By this time, I was just going for their sake. And I'm glad that we did. The rink was almost empty. There were some pros there, though. They were running and jumping, training to be figure skaters. This time, I brought along my DSLR onto the rink. That morning the crowd made me afraid of falling that I kept it in the locker. So if we didn't go again, we wouldn't have all these photos.
I haven't ice skated much. This is my second time, the first being in Murren, Switzerland when I was 15. But my family used to always roller-blade around in the evening. So, I find it easy to skate. Adlin and Qila took awhile to get used to it. But that night, they were doing really well. None of us fell, by the way! Accomplishment unlocked!
For some of the photos, special thanks to Mikhail and Amshar for posing and snapping for us.
Some fashion tips: Wear pants. Actually, just wear anything that is comfortable that you can move around in. And bring along a sweater because it was really cold. I didn't know so I acted all cool in my normal clothes but really, I was freezing.
Gotta go study now.
Gotta go study now.
xoxo,
Sya.
